Seelye Kia of Holland and the Seelye Auto Group are proud to celebrate 54 years of serving customers in the West Michigan area. With a growing digital presence, we welcome new customers from many areas outside of our typical West Michigan home. And it would be our pleasure to have the opportunity to do the same for you!
Seelye Kia of Holland is family owned and has three generations of strength of leadership within the business and community. With Mickey Seelye currently serving as the active owner responsible for daily operations, we continue to make our employees and customers a priority as part of the fabric of what matters most to us.
Our founder, Donald J Seelye, served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Seelye was shot and wounded while courageously fighting for our freedom in the Battle of lwo Jima in World War II. While recovering at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, Don received a purple heart and personal visit from President Harry S. Truman, thanking him for his sacrifice. Donald J Seelye passed away in 1997, but the discipline, commitment to others, and attention to detail learned while in the Marine Corps are still alive in our dealerships today.
Starting with our founder, Donald J Seelye, his sons Mike and Pat Seelye, and grandson Mickey Seelye, our pledge to being involved and giving back to our community has always been a priority. With the vision and leadership of Mike Seelye, this year marks the 20 year anniversary celebrating the Donald J Seelye and Steven Little Tyler Memorial Golf Classic. Proceeds from this event are distributed to the American Cancer Society for continued research and financial assistance for those in need.
In 2016 the employees of our company wanted to set a new record for funds raised in our annual United Way of Southwest Michigan Campaign. With the highest participation rate we had ever seen from our employees, we were able to surpass this lofty goal and set a new benchmark going forward. Some other organizations within the community we have partnered with, include, but are not limited to, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Boys and Girls Club, Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, and the Donald J Seelye Athletic Center for student-athletes at Western Michigan University.
And now the Seelye family has committed the same resources to our Holland area friends and neighbors, with our pledge to help grow community awareness with a strong commitment to all local school districts and youth programs. In 2015 we began to grant sponsorships to all three local high school sports and academic programs with live radio remotes, the NFL football fun zone, youth football, baseball and softball sponsorships.
Seelye Kia of Holland has also reached the TOP 10% of Kia dealerships nationally in CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) through our "Leave No Customer Behind" commitment. This commitment has allowed us to help over 200 new customers purchase a quality pre-owned vehicle in 2016 and 2017 that in the traditional format with not be able to do so.
The Seelye Family looks forward to watching KIA become an intricate part of the Holland community over the next few years. We appreciate the support from the community and look forward to the future.
